Sow & Grow UK, Tropical Plant Specialists in the UK

Having worked with plants her whole adult life, owner Leah Burgess decided to go it alone and dedicate herself to starting her own business, Sow & Grow UK, in 2018. A professional gardener providing quality gardening services and also selling some wonderful home grown rarities. 

​

Based in Taunton, Somerset, Leah trained at The Walled Gardens of Cannington in Somerset, a Royal Horticultural Society (RHS) recommended garden. The gardens have classic and contemporary features such as; the 'hot' herbaceous border; the blue garden; a sub-tropical walk; and a Victorian style fernery, amongst others. There is also a botanical glasshouse where arid, sub-tropical and tropical plants can be seen and two smaller gardens within the walls (The Bishop's and Australasian Gardens) are areas of real tranquillity. It was here that Leah's love of ferns and tropicals grew, along with her plant knowledge and propagation skills.

Following a stint as a stay-at-home mum, where she took the opportunity to keep learning about plant culture and propagation, Leah rejoined the workforce with a specialist plant grower in Somerset, eventually gaining the knowledge and confidence to open her own business in 2018. And so, Sow & Grow UK was born!

With a combination of hard work and specialist knowledge of plant tissue culture and micropropagation, Leah aims to expand the offering of Sow & Grow UK to offer an even wider range of tropical ferns, plants and unusual specimen plants to the UK plant market.
